Many dog owners are confused by the many types of vaccinations available at the vet. Which are necessary at Dogs on Board?
|Type of Vaccination||Requirement||Rational|
|Annual Core Vaccinations
(combination of Parvovirus, Adenovirus, Distemper, Parainfluenza, 4 strains of Leptospira)
|Compulsory||These are life threatening diseases that dogs are exposed to when they go for walks, especially if they lick or smell urine spots.|
|Bordetella Vaccination (“Pneumodog”)||Encouraged||Kennel cough is easily transmittable via air in a social environment but not life threatening. Similar to cough in humans and will resolve on its own. Dog owners should get this vaccination for their dogs if they are worried about their dog getting a cough.|
|Rabies Vaccination||Not necessary||Singapore is rabies-free|
